Khalid Kalban
Mr. Khalid has broad experience in different fields ranging from industrial, financial to the investment sectors.
He currently holds number of positions as Vice Chairman and CEO of Dubai Investments PJSC, Chairman of Al Mal Capital PSC, Board Member of National General Insurance PJSC, Board Member of Arcapita Investment Management BSC-Bahrain, Board Member of Ajman Bank PJSC
Mr. Khalid has a degree in Business Management from the USA and also majored in management at the Metropolitan State College, USA.
Adrian joined Actis in 2009 and has been a leader of the Long Life Infrastructure business from its inception. He is responsible for originating and managing investments in the infrastructure sector and managing the global multi-sector infrastructure team, as well as serving on the Actis Long Life Infrastructure Fund (ALLIF) Investment Committee and Actis’ Executive Committee. Adrian relocated from London to Singapore at the end of 2021 and heads Actis’ Singapore office.
Adrian led ALLIF’s early transactions in Chile, Brazil, India, the Middle East & Africa (including Pelicano, Babilonia, Athena, and Emicool) and serves on several portfolio Boards. Prior to his leadership role launching the ALLIF 1 fund, Adrian worked within Actis’ Energy sector team, where he was heavily involved in all of the firm’s electricity distribution deals, including Energuate in Guatemala and Umeme in Uganda – where he supported the successful IPO and subsequent capital markets exit of Umeme. He also has significant experience within the power generation space, including multiple platforms across Africa. Within these businesses he focused on driving growth, operational improvements, and risk mitigation strategies.
Prior to Actis, Adrian worked as Director of International Expansion at Endeavor Global, and as a management consultant with Monitor Group / Monitor Corporate Finance in Toronto and Seoul for four years. He also spent time with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, UNDP in Indonesia, CARE International Zambia and Goldman Sachs investment banking. Adrian holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, an MPA/ID degree from Harvard Kennedy School and a B.Com (Honours) from Queen’s University (Canada), is a CFA charter holder, and recently completed GARP’s Sustainability and Climate Risk Certificate.
Jordan joined BCI in 2011 and is a member of the senior investment team in the Infrastructure & Renewable Resource Investments group. Based in Victoria, BCI is an independent corporation that manages approximately $200 billion of assets primarily on behalf of a number of pension plans. Jordan, along with a group of senior professionals, is charged with investing and managing approximately $20 billion of equity capital in the infrastructure and renewable resources space with investments across 30 countries and all major infrastructure sectors. As part of his role, Jordan sits on the Investment Committee of the Infrastructure & Renewable Resource group.
Prior to joining BCI, Jordan spent eight years as an investment banker with TD Securities, initially in Toronto and later in Vancouver, providing M&A advice and capital raising services. Jordan started his career with TD Commercial Banking in Victoria and Vancouver.
Jordan currently sits as a Director on the Boards of Transelec (Chile’s largest electricity transmission company), Endeavour Energy Holdco (50.4% owner of a large electricity distribution company in Sydney, Australia), and Linx Cargo (an Australian diversified bulk and automotive logistics company). He also serves as on the LP Advisory Committee of the US$1.2 billion Actis Long Life Infrastructure Fund. Prior board appointments include Patrick Terminals Holdco (50% owner of a large Australian port terminal operator), InTransit (owner of the Canada Line transit system concession in Vancouver), Island Timberlands LP (a large Vancouver Island timber company) and Kern Energy Partners LP Advisory Committee.
Jordan has taught managerial finance at the Gustavson School of Business at the University of Victoria and has served on several not-for-profit boards of large organizations, including Habitat for Humanity, the Vancouver Aquarium, and the University of Victoria Senate. He sits on the Board of the National Investment Banking Competition and acts as a case judge at several business case competitions.
Jordan is a CFA charter holder and holds the Institute of Corporate Directors director designation.
Mr. Max is a founding member of the Actis Long Life Infrastructure Fund and has been working on investments in infrastructure for over 15 years. Throughout his career, he has worked on 17 transactions that have closed with an aggregate value of over US$ 11 billion.
Currently, Mr. Max is a Director at Actis and is responsible for leading infrastructure investments in the Middle East and Africa. His prior experience includes investment roles with EQT Infrastructure and Quantum Energy Partners.
Mr. Max holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree with emphases in Finance and International Business from the University of Arizona, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude.
Mr. AbdulAziz is a Chairman of Emicool since 2003.
He has vast experience in industrial dealings and business management.
Currently, Mr. AbdulAziz serves as the Chairman of the board for a number of companies including Module University, Litech, Dubai Cranes, Emirates Extruded Polystyrene. He also sits on the Board of Directors Industries, Dubai Investments Park, Masharie, Dubai Investments Real Estate, Al Taif Investments, Al Mal Capital, Al Qudra Sports Management and UAE International Investors Council.
Mr. AbdulAziz was educated in the University of Southern California, US, where he majored in Industrial and System Engineering.
Mr. Mohamed is an Independent & non-executive Director on the Board of Dubai Investments for the last 9 years.
Additionally, he is a Member of two of the Board Committees: Audit Committee and Nomination and Remuneration Committee. He holds positions of Vice-Chairman of Danat El Emarat Women & Children’s Hospital Project, and Board Member of AHI- Carrier FZC, Marka PJSC, Al Mal Capital PSC.
Mr. Mohamed holds a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration majoring in Business Management.
As the CEO of Emicool since 2010, Dr. Adib oversees conceiving new strategies, deploying new business processes, efficiently managing company's overall resources and operations, increasing shareholders value and ensuring company’s continuous growth. In addition to the CEO role, Dr. Adib is a Board Member and Advisor of three successful subsidiaries: Aquacool, Emitech, Emirates Integrated Cooling Services.
Dr. Adib has previously served as a Corporate Director- Facilities Management in Union Properties. He has 22 years of experience in increasingly responsible roles in Executive Management, Corporate Finance, Facilities & Property Management, Smart Building Systems, and Auditing of Management Systems.
Dr. Adib holds a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, is a graduate of Marine Mechanical Engineering (BMME) and holds a Master’s Degree in Quality Management from Wollongong University, Australia. He also holds a Doctorate degree in Business Administration from Swiss Management Center University, Switzerland.
As the CFO of Emicool since 2019, Mr. Yousuf is spearheading various tactical projects relating to inorganic growth and debt re-structuring in line with Emicool strategic objectives.
Prior to joining Emicool, Mr. Yousuf was associated with the Parent Company, Dubai Investments PJSC as a Group Finance Director from 2009, where he looked after Group financial reporting, investments and treasury functions and worked on several investments, project financing, debt raising and restructuring projects.
Mr. Yousuf is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan.
As the CCO of Emicool since 2019, Mr. Nasser supervises enhancing new businesses, maintains and enhances relationship with all key corporate customers ensuring commercial success of the company.
Mr. Nasser has previously worked with Dubai Investment Park as a Head of Tenant Relations. He also served as the Chief Services Officer of Emicool in 2014 -2019 where he supervised Revenue Assurance, Customer Service, HR and Administration sections.
Mr. Nasser has a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration and a Higher Diploma in Financial Services from Dubai Men’s College (Higher College of Technology).
As the CTO of Emicool since 2019, Mr. Hani is responsible for taking the Technical Departments and all its sections to new heights to contribute to Emicool's commitment for growth.
Mr. Hani has more than 30 years of diversified experience in marine, oil and gas industry, energy efficiency, Asset Management Operation and Maintenance sector. His knowledge of oil and gas allows him to easily take the challenge of increasing demands for sustainable and energy efficient solutions in the UAE.
Mr. Hani holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the UAE & Class 1 Chief Engineer COC from Singapore & Kingdom of Jordan.
As the Chief Services Officer, Mohamed is responsible for leading and optimizing shared service functions including Human Resources, Information Technology, Administration and Procurement. He leverages his knowledge to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs. With his strategic vision and analytical mindset, he identifies opportunities to streamline processes, implement best practices, and leverage technology to enhance service delivery.
Mohamed also collaborates closely with other senior leaders to align shared services with the overall business strategy by leading the Business Excellence & Sustainability function while ensuring that the services provided meet the highest quality and compliance standards. Overall, Mohamed is a vital executive team member, driving operational excellence and value creation across the organization.
Before Emicool, Mohamed worked in Knowledge and Human Development Authority and The Emirates Group. He holds a bachelor’s degree in human resources management with Business Studies from Middlesex University. In addition, he is a Certified Professional from The Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM), the largest global HR professional organization.
